Wrist and Forearm

This page is for surgeons looking for solutions for Wrist and Forearm Fractures and Osteotomies, Wrist Arthrodesis, and Wrist Spanning oprtions.

Distal Radius & Distal Ulna

The Aptus Distal Radius and Distal Ulna System offers a wide range of fracture-specific plate designs available in a variety of sizes, widths, and thicknesses to help surgeons address a multitude of fracture types.

Arthrodesis System

Freedom from pain, mobility and stability are basic prerequisites for a trouble-free hand function.  The APTUS Wrist Arthrodesis System provides a comprehensive portfolio of plates for meeting the individual needs of patients.

Ulna Shortening

Ulnar impaction syndrome is defined as the painful compression of the ulnocarpal compartment due to a pathological positive ulnar variance.  Ulnar shortening osteotomy is an established procedure to treat this indication.  The APTUS Ulna Shortening System 2.5 provides an angular stable plate and guided, rotation-proof compression.

Wrist Spanning Plates

The two innovative spanning plate options allow different fracture patterns and the varying surgical preferences of surgeons to be easily addressed.  The straight plate is designed for placement over second metacarpal while the anatomically curved plates are optimized for placement over the third metacarpal.  This novel design of the curved plate helps to facilitate plate positioning and may reduce entrapment of the extensor policies longus tendon due to the coronal bend..  All plates feature a 12 degree dorsal bend for a neutral hand position, additional screw holes for direct buttressing of the scaphoid or lunate facet and our multidirectional and angular stable TriLock locking technology.

Radius & Ulna Shaft Plates

A standard taken to the next level. The precontoured and straight shaft plates are designed to facilitate anatomical reduction of fractures in the forearm.  With numerous fixation options the surgeon can address both simple and complex fractures as well as osteotomies.  All screw holes have multidirectional locking options in an offset screw arrangement to address small fragments more easily.  Additionally, TriLock (PLUS) screw holes offer the advantage of locking and compression in one step.  Tapered plate ends may help reduce peak stresses on the bone.
